Can cause problems of steroids anabolics at the babies whose fathers are with l' helps when they arrive expectant mother?

My best friend is 9 weeks pregnant and just found out her husband was using anabolic steroids when he got her pregnant. Can this cause problems and if so what?
She did ask her doc who said that it does not affect the baby, however I remembered reading an article last year that said new studies had showed a potential risk for childhood leukemia. I didn’t tell her that however, not until I researched it more.

my hubby is a gym junkie, hes got alot of freinds who use these steroids, from what hes heard its not safe at all, there is a risk of heart problems, and other defects in the baby,
a freind of ours had to come off them months before they tried to conceive as his wife researched it all
not all babies are affected, but some are, good luck, xxxxx

Anabolic steroids do not cause genetic changes or damage , therefore her husbands sperm would be unaffected and there would be no problems with the baby that could be connected to steroid use.The previous poster is incorrect, such problems would only occur if the MOTHER was taking the steroids, not the father, the father simply provides sperm which as I stated earlier would be unaffected by the steroid use.
For something that could be potentially serious, ask a doctor.
Men manufacture sperm every 64 days… so if he hasn’t been using them that long there is a slim chance the sperm was ‘clean’
I would have her request an amniocentesis from her OBGYN to check for defects.
